Student Internships
Citizens for King County Monorail is a non-profit, grass-roots, political organization dedicated to giving our region a way to travel quickly above the gridlock on our roads. We believe that a regional monorail system could be the key factor to getting us moving again here in King County.
We advocate the immediate formation of a citizens commission to study a regional monorail system and present a workable plan to the voters. We strongly believe in public participation and think that it is the key to any successful transportation plan.
We want a regional rapid mass transit system which will:
- Carry hundreds of thousands of riders daily above the traffic, and faster than travel on congested highways
- Double transit usage regionally, freeing up buses for new routes and reducing air and water pollution
- Be safe, quiet, and neighborhood-friendly
- Be cheaper to build and operate and quicker to construct than alternatives
- Provide easy connections with other modes of transit that provide service to every part of King County
